Recent Advances in BlackBerry Cell Phones

The cell phone technology has evolved over the years since its introduction about 2 decades ago. Each major improvement is classified into a generation and the present generation belongs to smart phones that have many advanced features similar to computers.

 

BlackBerry is one of the leading brands of cell phone makers and makes smart phones with many useful features. Research in Motion or RIM for short is the manufacturer of BlackBerry brand of cellular phones. They design, fabricate and market wireless technology products and offer data services that have made a mark among users on the basis of their performance.

The SIM card which provides the address to the cell phone set and connects it to a service provider is independent of the cell phone itself. The BlackBerry is more than a cell phone, it is an office on the move because it has many functionalities and one can do many things with it while on the go.

Mobile phones are offered in many styles and sizes and have become an indispensable tool for professionals, businessmen, college students and practically everyone. They have become a status symbol and BlackBerry models truly define it. BlackBerry is the inventor of the push mail technology and has captured about 77% of its market worldwide.

BlackBerry(r) 8100

The BlackBerry 8100 Pearl smart phone is smart in its true sense. It has a 1.3 Mp camera and can function in 4 different bands viz. 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. It has a full QWERTY keyboard, an expandable memory slot and multimedia features.

The model has a built in memory of 64 MB and a big colour screen that uses EDGE technology. The cell phone has built in email client that allows sending / receiving of emails with attachments similar to a PC. It can also run many business applications when travelling.

When connected to GPRS networks, the BlackBerry 8100 smart phone can download streaming multimedia and run them using music and video player. It is lightweight weighing only 120 gms and has a battery life of 15 days when in standby mode. The cell phone is packed with several features and allows the user to do many things fast thus saving time and money. Overall it improves productivity.

BlackBerry(r) 7100:

The 7100 series of smart phones from BlackBerry were launched with specific mobile networks in mind. For example the 7100T is meant for T-mobile network. These models are one of the earliest releases from BlackBerry. They combine wireless communication with information processing very well to provide users the best of both.

Some of the important features provided in these models include Bluetooth connectivity, polyphonic ring tones and call log facility. The model has all the functionalities of BlackBerry smart phones including the SureType keyboard.

Now we await the Blackberry bold and Blackberry Storm.
